Forty-Five Painted Rotations
This experimental photo book was inspired by Edward Ruscha's pop movement work that documented objects in a straight forward way, emerging as the main influence of minimalist book art. I wanted to interpret my own version of his repetitive sequence and seriality approach, which often created a shock-value and humorous response. The forty-five painted rotations are the result of a 30 minute block using a limited color palette to create a childhood favorite activity, spin art, into an elevated art book that displays the comparisons and contrasts that occur when movement is introduced to paint on paper.
